A pendant made with extra-small beads, using a macrame process, hangs from a 22" long double strand of black leather. The colors are mostly blue-grey, silver and reddish-brown, and there is a single pearl dangling from the bottom. While offered with the leather strands, the wearer is free to change out to a silk ribbon, chain, or other cording.
While making this piece, self-quarantined in her home-studio, the artist reflects, "I usually have infinite patience for tedious work. For some reason, while making this petite-scaled piece, originally intended to be one of two earrings, I completely ran out of the patience required to make the second in the pair. (This truly is one-of-a-kind. You can't say that about the earrings!) A sentiment many can undoubtedly relate to these days, I find my moods changing back and forth, from calm to tense, patient and confident to barely being able to grasp what's happening in the world out there. This affects not so much the look of my product, but the ability to concentrate, and the amount of time it takes to create."
