Yes, there is an actual “brick and mortar” gallery located
at 123 N. Main Street on the square in historic La Grange, Texas. La Grange is halfway between Austin and
Houston and is an easy drive from San Antonio and the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
In general, a print is something that the artist has had a
direct hand in making such as limited edition photographs, wood block
prints, lithographs, monographs,
etc. A reproduction is done when a
photograph is taken of an original and then printed using some process such as
a digital printer. We try to distinguish
between these on the descriptions of the items.
However, in the search categories, we may place a reproduction in the
“print” category as people do sometimes look for a reproduction as a “print”.
The site is set up such that you can search by either one of
many categories or search by artist alphabetically. Also, we have a way to search by name by clicking the magnifying glass icon at the top right of the page.
That will depend on the item. Many are one of a kind items and cannot be
duplicated. However, there are items
that we do get again including much of the functional glass and wood items,
limited edition prints and reproductions, and jewelry items. Many of those items can be ordered by calling
the store directly during business hours.
We do not take checks through the online store but you may call the gallery and arrange a purchase through the store with a check. We must receive the check and process it through the bank making sure that it clears the bank before we will ship the item to you. We can do the sale in the store in person with proper identification.
Each of our pieces of art are individual and must be handled as such when shipping. We calculate the cost to pack, insure, and ship each piece to the best of our knowledge. However, as the distance varies with each order, that part is more difficult to predict. Our policy is to refund the difference between our costs to safely pack, ship and insure your order and what you pay when the item is ordered should your payment be higher that the actual costs.
Obviously, we are not dealing in the volume that Amazon and
other large retailers ship so we do not get reduced shipping charges. Also, we are shipping many “one of a kind”
items on which we can only estimate shipping charges based on packing large
enough to ensure safe delivery, cost of insurance, and general delivery
location. Because our prices are not
precise, we will refund back to you anything above the cost to us to ship with
insurance and adequate packing materials plus a small ($5-10) handling fee for our
staff time. We will email you when the
package has shipped and if you need to look for a refund on shipping costs.
We try to pack and ship within 5 business days with the
shipping time depending on the carrier. If you need expedited shipping, please
call the gallery to arrange for this and we will do our best to accommodate
Yes. However the
store is set up to automatically charge for shipping. You will have to pay that, call us at the
gallery at the soonest time that we are open and let us know that you want to
pick it up. We will not ship it and will
refund the shipping costs when you pick up the item.
